The Winnipeg Blue Bombers have officially released Drew Desjarlais.
Farhan Lalji de TSN reports that the 24-year-old offensive lineman will sign a contract with the New England Patriots.
A native of Belle River, Ont., Desjarlais was the fourth overall pick of the 2019 draft. He was named to the Western Conference All-Star Team in his rookie season in 2019 and again last season, winning the Gray Cup in both years.
Desjarlais played 32 games in two seasons with the Bombers.
On Monday, the Blue Bombers hinted that Desjarlais had scheduled practices with a dozen NFL teams and that he should sign with one of them.
