The sports promotion program for 2022 in the State of Mexico has as a priority to support the different sectors, from recreational physical activation, to the practice of high performance, as confirmed by the General Directorate of Physical Culture and Sports.
In detail, the already established programs will be followed up, such as the physical activation sessions and the consolidation of the Sports Training centers is sought, which provide the bases in disciplines such as athletics, badminton, basketball, baseball, track cycling, BMX cycling. , fencing, racquetball, indoor soccer, soccer, artistic gymnastics, field hockey, modern pentathlon, rugby, squash, TKD, beach volleyball and wushu.
With the emergence of the State Cups of Mexico, the attraction of talents will continue massively with the participation of thousands of young athletes to whom this window will be opened again to participate in the tournaments at the state level.
Regarding the practice of recreational sports, the entity will host the Toluca Rock and Roll race, which will be held for the first time in the Mexican capital, hand in hand with the private initiative, as well as the traditional Paseo de las Almas, which it takes place within the framework of the Festival of Souls; the Teotihuacán Valley Festival and the Spartans that in 202, despite the limitations of the pandemic, were held in the vicinity of the Nevado de Toluca.
The state sports associations will carry out their qualifying processes to integrate their teams that will seek access to the second Conade National Games.
As far as high performance is concerned, Mexican athletes will begin their competition season and will start the cycle for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
Adapted sports will have a growth projection through the Adapted Sports School and the Adapted Soccer School, where they also seek to attract new talents and train those who will participate in the Conade 2021 Paranational Games.
Ciudad Deportiva de Zinacantepec will once again be open as a training center for national teams that seek to take advantage of the high altitude conditions in the Toluca Valley to hold camps, as has been done previously.
In this way, the General Directorate of Physical Culture and Sport plans to promote sports development in the entity, based on the health protocols that mark the epidemiological traffic light in the future.
