The innovations on the part of the NBA continue and now it is the turn of the traditional Rookie Game that from this campaign will undergo modifications and we will forget about the duels between players from the rest of the world against those from the United States or the matches between rookies and players second year
Changes in the Rookie Game
The NBA announced that the Rising Stars will be played on Friday, February 18 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse, home of the Cleveland Cavaliers. This time there will be 12 first-year players and 12 second-season players who will take part in the event, with the novelty that there will also be 4 players from the NBA G League Ignite team.
The format changes completely since now there will be four teams of 7 members, the teams will face each other in a three-game mini-tournament, semifinals and final. The goal will be to reach a number of points, just as has happened in the All-Star in recent years.
In addition, 8 NBA players and 8 from the G League Ignite will compete in a contest where they will have to match iconic shots from the playoffs.
