“Congratulations, David Ortiz. A true competitor, who played with tremendous passion and had an incredible presence at the plate. May the favor of God continue to shine on you my brother! You are an idol and pride for all! God bless you” , expressed Rivera on his Instagram account.
For his part, Carew expressed his feelings by recalling the time when a young David Ortiz made his way in the Major Leagues with the Minnesota Twins, an organization for which the Panamanian played and in which he has worked as a special instructor.
“Congratulations to ‘Big Papi’ on his election to the Baseball Hall of Fame. Watching you grow from a kid in Minnesota to a powerhouse in Boston was such a treat. Well deserved!” Carew tweeted.
