The 51-year-old comedian will host a program series about Danish badminton history, which will premiere on 3 February on DR2 and DR TV.
This is stated by DR in a press release.
– I simply have such a hard time understanding why badminton is no longer quite as cool as in my childhood, when Denmark still delivers some of the best players in the world, says Frank Hvam.
The program series is entitled ‘Frank Hvam: Make Badminton Great Again’.
– When I say on the standup stage today that I have played badminton for 11 years, people laugh a little. Badminton is almost a joke in itself. Why do people smile ?, says Frank Hvam in the press release and continues:
– Nobody laughs when I say I’ve been playing tennis for seven years. What has happened to my beloved sport? I have now set out to find out how to get the bling bling value in badminton a few nicks upwards so that the sport does not keep getting behind the wheel of tennis and football.
Over three episodes, you follow Frank Hvam as he unfolds the badminton history and examines how the sport and its practitioners can get a renewed shine, it sounds from DR.
Viewers are present when Frank Hvam meets sports stars such as Viktor Axelsen, Anders Antonsen, Camilla Martin and Peter Gade on his way.
Along the way, he also seeks advice and help from his satire friends Jan Gintberg, Jonatan Spang and Simon Kvamm, reveals DR.
‘Frank Hvam: Make Badminton Great Again’ premieres on 3 February on DR TV and on DR2 at 9 pm.
