SAN CRISTÓBAL.- The Valdesia Regional Director of the Ministry of Sports (MIDEREC), Eliseo Romero, valued as highly positive the construction and renovation of sports works in San Cristóbal and especially the Rosendo Sepúlveda soccer stadium.»Sport is an axis fundamental in the development of children and young people, it is a consecrated right and it is the duty of the State to promote the necessary elements for its practice”, said Romero. He affirmed that the sports family of the city of San Cristóbal is jubilant for the palazos and picazos carried out for the construction of seven works and that took place in the Rosendo Sepúlveda soccer stadium, an activity headed by Rafael Salazar, director of the Dominican Hydroelectric Generating Company. (EGEHID).’It is a mandate from President Luis Abinader and engineer Salazar, who is an athlete, has interpreted this need and has made its solution possible, in a strategic alliance with the Ministry of Sports, which is diligently directed by the also engineer Francisco Camacho”, said Romero. The Regional Director of Sports questioned about the activities in the province, said that despite the pandemic that still plagues us, sports activities have been reactivated. He cited that events have been held in the province with the support of MIDEREC, such as baseball, soccer, judo, weightlifting, kurash, sambo, softball, tae kwon do and volleyball tournaments, among others.
