macOS 12.3 and iOS 15.4 ready for DualSense adaptive triggers

Sony’s DualSense controllers got some attention from Apple in the macOS 12.3 and iOS/iPadOS 15.4 betas. These systems will allow applications use PS5 controller“>adaptive triggers PS5 controllers. These can play on tension levels in certain actions or at times in the game.

The examples most often given are the transmission of the feeling of effort when pulling the string of a bow, when using a firearm or, in the case of the basketball simulation NBA 2K21, it is the degree of player fatigue that is noticeable through this.

These small refinements are only available if the title supports this ability of the controllers, it is not yet the case in many of them on the console. And it is now up to the developers of Apple Arcade or other games to make this adaptation effort…
