Farmers Insurance Open: Here comes Jason Day again

He hasn’t lifted a trophy since May 2018 and a win at Wells Fargo. So, there’s still one more round to play, but after almost three years in the shadows, Jason Day is back in action at Torrey Pines. Back down to 129th planetary, the former world number one is this Saturday co-leader of the Farmers Insurance Open.

On the course of the last US Open, the Australian returned this Saturday a card of 67 (-5). A well-known track for the 2015 USPGA winner, Farmers winner in 2015 and 2018. But before lifting a 3rd crown, there is still a long way to go and Jason Day knows it.

64 (-8)

Like the best card of the day. A performance signed Cameron Young which allows the American to climb 54 places in the standings and to find 8th.

Rahm in the game

Day is currently in the lead at -14 along with Will Zalatoris. The two men are one step ahead of the winner of the 2017 Vaudreuil Golf Challenge, Aaron Rai and Jon Rahm.

« I played well said the world number one. I feel like I played a lot better than the score shows. There are only two holes where I struggled and probably gave the course two shots. I played very good golf, but I couldn’t take the opportunities that presented themselves. In these conditions, it’s complicated to score low. »
