Djokovic test fake? Criminal complaint in Serbia – Sportmix

There is no rest in the entry posse around tennis star Novak Djokovic. Now there is a criminal complaint in Serbia.

Two weeks ago, the Serbian tennis star, who had traveled to Melbourne unvaccinated, was expelled from Australia by Australian Immigration Minister Alex Hawke. The 34-year-old is a danger to the Australian population.

Doubts about positive test

Djokovic had previously tried to enter Australia using a medical exemption. This was based on a corona infection that was said to have been detected on December 16th using a PCR test.

Conspiracy: Was politician fired because of Djokovic?

However, this caused confusion, after all, the Serb was seen at two events on December 17th and gave an interview and photo shoot to a “l’Equipe” journalist on December 18th. The 34-year-old later apologized for this. He didn’t want to disappoint the journalists.

Test number too high?

However, the doubts about the correctness of the corona tests did not go away. Also because his lawyers presented two test certificates in the course of the court proceedings, which were intended to prevent the Serb’s deportation. The positive test of December 16th and a negative test of December 22nd.

The BBC has now taken a close look at these and other corona tests from Serbia. It is striking that the supposed positive test from December 16 has a higher number than the negative test six days later. The number 7371999 is noted on the certificate dated December 16, while the negative test number is 7320919.

Positive on December 26th?

Although both swabs were taken in different laboratories, further tests available to the BBC would show that the numbering is chronological. Research by “Spiegel” revealed that the positive test has a time stamp that points to December 26th, ten days after the supposed positive test. The BBC was assisted in its research by Milovan Suvakov, who was once Serbia’s deputy minister of education and is now doing research in the US. The certificates provided by Suvakov also led to the conclusion that the positive Djokovic test must have taken place between December 25th and 28th.

Data expert Djordje Krivokapic said: “There is always the possibility of a glitch. That would be a simple explanation. But I don’t see why the state authorities wouldn’t just admit it.”

Criminal complaint in Serbia

The case is now making headlines again in Serbia. As “Kurir” reports, a criminal complaint against unknown persons has now been filed in Serbia. The accusation: Djokovic’s test certificates are said to have been falsified. The report says that Suvakov filed the criminal complaint, but he denied it in Novosti.

Now, however, the public prosecutor’s office will start their investigation. Data from the health authorities will therefore be handed over to the Ministry of the Interior by court order.

Djokovic, who returned to Serbia after his expulsion, has recently appeared in public several times. At the end of February, the 34-year-old will return to the big tennis stage at the ATP tournament in Dubai. All you need to enter the United Arab Emirates is a negative PCR test.
