Los Angeles Dodgers sign two players from Uganda and make MLB history

The Dodgers had previously surprised by signing a player from Russia.

The Los Angeles Dodgers continue to make history in the MLB with their different movements in the international signing period, in which after signing a pitcher from Russia, they surprised the world again by signing two players from Uganda.

The news was released by the Uganda National Sports Council through its social networks, in which it revealed that baseball players Ben Serunkuma and Umar Male made history by becoming the first players from that country to be hired by a Major League organization.

Not satisfied with achieving two historic signatures that will undoubtedly cause a great impact in baseball, the Californian team also hired Joshua Kizito, who will become the first Ugandan-born coach who will be part of a coaching staff in the MLB system when he goes into action at Campo Las Palmas for the 2022 season.

Now, the task of enlarging this fact will depend on Ben Serunkuma and Umar Male who must travel to the Dominican Republic to start their journey in the Minor Leagues and they try to work their way up to the Majors, either with the Dodgers or with some other organization.

These signatures undoubtedly represent an important fact in the world of baseball because they opened the doors to the possibilities of more young people born in the African continent, may dream of the possibility of signing with a major league team in the future.
