Klopp has been aiming for Luis Diaz for a long time

Jurgen Klopp says he has been eyeing Luis Diaz for a long time. He became increasingly excited about Diaz after Liverpool met FC Porto in the Champions League this season.

Liverpool officially signed Luis Diaz from FC Porto. This Colombian player was brought in by the Reds for a transfer value of 37.5 million pounds (Rp 721 billion) plus a bonus of around 12.5 million pounds.

Diaz is reportedly tied to a contract until 2027 at Anfield. He will wear the number 23 jersey with Liverpool which was previously used by Xherdan Shaqiri.

Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp revealed that Diaz was a player he had been eyeing for a long time. The German manager is increasingly attracted to Diaz after seeing the 25-year-old player’s action with Porto when he met the Reds in the group phase of this season’s Champions League.

Diaz has indeed become a mainstay for Porto since he was brought in from Colombian club Junior FC in 2019. The player who operates on the left wing has a total of 41 goals and 19 assists in 125 appearances with Si Naga.

Klopp believes Diaz will adapt quickly to the Premier League. He considered the player born in Barrancas to have extraordinary fighting power both physically and mentally to increase Liverpool’s attack power.
