Peru’s national team won an important away victory in the final of the 2022 World Cup in Colombia on Friday. Peruvian footballers in Barranquilla outperformed their rivals in the final tournament in Colombia with 1-0 (0: 0), with both teams scoring 18 points in 14 matches before the game. Edison Floress scored the only goal in the 85th minute for Peru.

In another Friday match, Venezuela defeated Bolivia 4: 1 (2: 1) at home. With a hat-trick, Salomon Rondon took the lead in the 24th, 34th and 67th minutes. In the 55th minute, Darwin Machis scored another goal for the home team. Bruno Miranda scored the only goal for the visitors in the 38th minute, but Leonels Hustiniano, who received a red card for a rough technique in the 60th minute, made it difficult to play, leaving the guests in the minority.

Of the other competitions that took place the day before, the draw between Ecuador and Brazil should be highlighted – 1: 1 (0: 1). Brazil’s Karlosa Kazemiru could have put themselves ahead after 75 minutes but Felikss Torress missed a volley shot on a ball coming in from the right. Both teams finished the game with ten people, leaving home for Aleksander Dominges on the field in the 15th minute, and Emerson Royal earned the second yellow card for the guests five minutes later.

The victory was won by Argentina, who had already earned the World Cup final ticket, without Lionel Mesi, who was given a rest, and was beaten by another candidate for the final tournament in Chile 2: 1 (2: 1). Kalam’s guests were led by Angel di Maria in the tenth minute, equalized by Ben Brereton in the 21st minute, and Milan’s Inter striker Lautaro Martiness scored the 34th minute. The players on both teams stood out with nine yellow cards, earning five for the home team.

Finally, the 17th place winner of the world ranking defeated Paraguay with Uruguay 1: 0 (0: 0), maintaining hopes of qualifying for the World Cup. Luis Svaress scored the only goal in Asuncion in the 50th minute. In the first half, four yellow cards were earned by Uruguayans, but in the second half, the Paraguayan national team answered with four, with Gustavo Gomes at his second card in the match and rejection.

In the South American Football Confederation (CONMEBOL) qualifying zone, Brazil and Argentina have played 14 games each, scoring 36 and 32 points respectively, and have already made it to the finals. The other national teams have played 15 matches. Ecuador has 24 points, Peru 20, Uruguay 19, Colombia 17, Chile 16, Bolivia 15, Paraguay 13 and Venezuela ten points. The first four teams will secure a place in the final tournament, but the fifth team will have the opportunity to fight in the “play-off” round.
