This Sunday, January 30, early in the morning, Sergio Garrido, governor of Barinas, bid farewell to the first group of athletes who will represent the entity in the XX National Sports Games that start tomorrow in Caracas.
Led by the president of the Regional Sports Institute, Juan José Pacheco, the first advanced team of the Barina delegation is made up of 205 athletes.
According to the schedule to be developed in the first week of competition, the first advanced athletes will participate in 11 of the 35 disciplines that will see action in these games.
Pacheco explained that this first advanced will compete in Caracas, La Guaira, Miranda, Carabobo and Yaracuy.
He made reference to the disciplines of baseball, softball and judo that will compete in the capital of the Republic. While Tae Kwon Do and boxing will be staged in the state of La Guaira.
The basketball, soccer and fencing tests will take place in Miranda and Carabobo, respectively.
Pacheco indicated that the competitions for women’s volleyball and Creole balls will be held in Yaracuy state.
The president of Irdeb highlighted the commitment that Governor Sergio Garrido has put into state sporting activity. “We hope to deliver a modest performance,” he said.
Finally, the governor of the plains entity wished the greatest success to the delegation for the National Sports Games. He also promised encouragement to the medalists and a caravan throughout the state capital “with the champions of the new sports Barinas, the victorious Barinas.”
