It was biting to the last second, but after six years we will see Club Brugge welcomes a striker from Hoffenheim”>Denis Odoi back in Belgium.
Fulham‘s wing defender negotiated a transfer with Club Brugge all day. In the search for an experienced flank defender, blue-black had come to Odoi.
The ex-player of Anderlecht and STVV, among others, has been with the English Fulham since 2016. Odoi was a league leader in the English second division, but had an expiring contract.
Club now saw an opportunity to bring the 1-time Red Devil back to our country. He signed a contract until 2024.
Earlier in the day, the national champion also picked Sargis Adamyan away from Hoffenheim. The 18-time international got sidetracked in the Bundesliga. Adamyan did not get further than two base places and 11 substitutes in the competition this season. He hit it once.
It is no coincidence that Club ended up with Adamyan. Alfred Schreuder knows the striker, who can also play on the wing, from his period as head coach at Hoffenheim. The attacker then scored five times, but saw his advance halted by a succession of muscle injuries.
Now he has to give the national champion more options up front. Besides Bas Dost, there are few other strikers in Club’s selection. The national champion rents Adamyan until the end of the season, but did negotiate a purchase option.
