Candidate Yoon plans to expand senior-friendly sports such as table tennis, badminton and vitality yoga at the National Sports Center. In addition, anti-aging health promotion programs through cognitive care (dementia prevention) sports such as Go and chess, expansion of health recovery programs such as physical therapy and psychological treatment, placement of exercise prescriptions for the elderly, and advanced technology such as smart exercise equipment friendly to the elderly They pledged to support indoor and outdoor physical fitness programs.
He said, “In addition to health promotion programs, we will support senior leisure activity programs such as small movie theaters, cafes, and hobby classes so that the elderly can enjoy a prosperous life in their old age. The government or local governments will provide incentives such as ‘senior-friendly facility certification’ for leisure activities.”
According to the 2020 National Sports Survey, the participation rate of seniors in daily sports was high at 62%, but the participation events were limited to walking (61.1%) and mountain climbing (35.4%). Existing national sports centers and multi-purpose gyms, such as swimming pools and gyms, are mainly operated by young people and middle-aged people.
