Dobele “Tenax” handball players beat the Vilnius team in the Baltic League

The Dobele Tenax team won the Baltic Handball League on Sunday, while Ogre / Hydrox and Ludza Latgols lost. Dobele handball players beat Vilnius Svieša club in their field with the result 35:28 (15:15).

Antons Šuleiko scored ten goals for the winners, but Nils Kreicbergs and Andis Ērmanis scored seven goals for the opponents. Domantas Pukas had seven goals for the guests.

Meanwhile, in front of their stands, the Ludzans acknowledged the superiority of the Estonian team “Kehra” / “Horizon Pulp & Paper” with 34:40 (14:24). Eduards Malahovs was convincingly the most productive for the home team with 13 goals, but Renārs Grebeņikovs performed seven accurate shots. Sigmars Sērmans disappointed the Latgols team 19 times.

The people of Ogre who suffered at 22:40 (8:20) from Põlva’s “Serviti” suffered an even more convincing loss. Artūrs Lazdiņš scored five goals for the Ogre team, but Sanders Sarapū and Karl Ēriks Uibo had five flawless programs. Artūrs Meikšāns from Latvia, who represents the Põlva team, threw the goal three times and was punctual once.

The Dobele unit ranks fourth in the tournament table with 19 points won in 15 matches. “Ogre” / “Hydrox” with 12 points in 14 games is in the 12th place, but Ludza “Latgols”, which has not won in 14 matches, is in the last place. There are 13 teams in the Baltic Handball League this season. Estonia and Lithuania have five units. For Estonia they are “Tapa”, “Viljandi”, Rāsiku “Mistra”, “Kehra” and Põlva “Serviti”, Lithuania is represented by Alytus “Varsa – Stronglasa”, Kaunas “Granitas – Karys”, Klaipėda “Dragunas”, Vilnius “Šviesa” and “Vilnius”, but Latvia – the previous season Latvian champion Dobele “Tenax”, “Ogre” / ”Hydrox” and Ludza “Latgols”. This season, one of the leading domestic teams of Riga “Celtnieks” is not starting in any of the tournaments.

The winners of the previous season’s league were Klaipėda’s “Dragunas”, which won the Vilnius “Švieša” in the final. Latvian teams – Dobele “Tenax”, Riga “Celtnieks”, “Ogre” and Ludza “Latgols” – were forced to terminate their participation in the league due to Covid-19 restrictions.
