The Marvel Cinematic Universe. The juggernaut of superhero movies. If you have never seen anything of this gigantic fresco: you are the only one. Or almost.
In 27 films and a dozen series, the Marvel universe is necessarily very extensive. Gigantic even. Hundreds of characters, important or secondary. And inevitably, in there there are also failures.
Less good characters, clichés, badly played or just perfectly stupid. And let’s be honest, there’s a bunch.
Not everyone can be Iron Man or Black Panther after all. So let’s go for a little overview of the worst characters. And we warn in advance, the risk of spoilers is great. You have been warned.
AVENGERS ASSEMBLE.
1. War Machine
WarMachine. Just the name sucks. And above all, it’s literally Iron Man much less well and much less cool. The character still almost died in “Civil War” and no one gave a damn, including us.
His main personality trait? To be a soldier. That’s all. In addition, we greatly preferred Terrence Howard to Don Cheadle.
Anyway, sorry but we don’t like you War Machine and we won’t watch your series at all.
2. Danny Rand
Anyone who has seen the series Iron Fist will understand. Danny Rand and his iron fists are particularly annoying.
The character is a spoiled and completely stupid rotten ball breaker. And as if that weren’t enough, he is stubborn, arrogant and very contemptuous. In addition, the actor plays very badly and the whole series is really very very bad.
In short, it’s awful.
3. Karli
Karli Morgenthau is neither more nor less than a zadist with a hockey mask.
A lame anarchist who dies in a lame fight after failing everything.
Super.
4. Ultron
An Artificial Intelligence as a super villain, the idea is incredible.
But the result on the screen is really bad. Ultron lacks charisma and personality (necessarily). In the end, Ultron just becomes a screwed-up Terminator, a far cry from the terrifying AI it could have become. Disappointing.
5. Hawkeye
So ok, things are (a little) better in the series dedicated to him.
But in the movies, the character of Hawkeye is a complete void. The only interest is vaguely his relationship with Natasha and again, it’s not really exciting either. For the rest, he’s just a basic guy without charisma who leaves his family in Wisconsin to take up archery. The guy is not funny, not badass, not mean. Nothing.
Just, he’s there.
Sorry Hawkeye but really if you could retire no one would be mad. Rest bro.
6. John Walker
John Walker is Captain America’s replacement in the series. Falcon and the Winter Soldier”.
But the character is really strange. A bit vicious, a bit mean but still with laudable intentions. The ambiguous side could have been super interesting but in the end, we don’t understand anything about the character or his intentions. And he is very annoying.
And then hey, being victimized by the Falcon, it’s still a shame.
7. Flash Thompson
Insupportable.
All of his interventions in the Spiderman movies are super heavy. The character is absolutely useless.
It releases.
8. Ronan
A worship guy with a club, it started well.
But Ronan is one of the MCU’s most ridiculous villains. No charisma, a quickdraw to go see Evanescence in concert in Dunkirk, no flow. Even the other characters constantly make fun of him. In addition necessarily, the actor makes cases and it shows.
A huge miss.
9. Whiplash
“Hey, what if the villain of Iron Man 2 was Mickey Rourke with electric wires everywhere who went crazy because his parrot was stolen? »
Well, tell yourself that this idea has been validated.
10. Elektra
There’s worse than the movie Elektra.
There is “Elektra” in the series Daredevil. Always angry, always rehired and with the worst decisions in the world every time. The character completely ruined season 3, we have no shame in saying so here. We really like Élodie Yung though, but it really doesn’t work.
11. Aldrich Killian
Why does the character played by Guy Pierce become a supervillain?
‘Cause Tony Stark slapped him on a New Year’s Eve.
Worst fragile in history.
12. Malekith
Obviously, being the villain of the worst MCU movie (Thor 2, of course), it’s automatically a bit complicated.
But Malekith is partly responsible for the massacre. A character even less interesting than the film. Which is a small feat given the nullity of the project.
Sorry Malekith, but nobody likes you.
13. Tyler Hayward
Admittedly, the character is voluntarily detestable in wall vision.
But he’s so cliché in the role of the unscrupulous agent that in the end, we just hate him. Nothing else.
14. Captain Marvel
We love Brie Larson.
We love that a super heroine is finally put forward.
But the character is far too slick, and her sheer power means there’s almost no stake in the film. We get bored watching it and we don’t necessarily want to know more. We only ask to be wrong and to acclaim Carol in her next films. Fingers crossed.
15. Elon Musk
Elon Musk plays himself in Iron Man 2.
Which is therefore enough to have its place in this ranking. Sorry Elon.
