The individual minimal Cup of the zone bringing together the departments of Landes, Pyrénées-Atlantiques and Lot-et-Garonne took place last Sunday at the Stadium of Agen. Note, among the great satisfactions, the victory of Andrea Dalmolin (Judo Alliance Garonne) who triumphed in the category – 52 kg.
91 young judokas, boys and girls, tried to qualify for the Regional Individual Minimized Cup, which will be held on February 13 at the Lormont regional dojo. “It is important to offer competitions in this minimal category which is pivotal before the possible passage in structures and because the selections are often made in minimal. This competition also makes it possible to select the young judokas who will participate in the Coupe de France by teams departmental in May”, specifies Roland Alias, the sports manager of the Departmental Committee 47.
An elite center for the minors 47
The federal technical adviser, Jérémy Louws, meanwhile, was pleased with the general smooth running of the day. “A small regret concerns the participation rate because we have lost, for Covid reasons, around a third of our young judokas. It is not surprising that the Pyrénées-Atlantiques have particularly shone. This is a department which has about twice our licensees. The young Lot-et-Garonne judokas, however, have nothing to be ashamed of. We must nevertheless continue training and this is the reason why the sports policy of our department seeks to constitute a elite pole. These young people will be brought together every school holiday. From February 14 to 16, five minims from our department will participate in a regional course. We seek to help all these minims progress together”. This first course in February will take place at Temple-sur-Lot.
