This Thursday, September 23 took place the departmental championship of adapted para badminton. A competition led by the Departmental Committee for Adapted Sport, with the support ofAmiens University Badminton Club and of theAlbert Sport Badminton.

Within the Halle des 4 Chênes, the shuttlecocks flared up on the occasion of the departmental championship. Despite a disappointment linked to numerous last-minute absences, the objective was fulfilled, that of awarding the championship titles so that the badminton players could continue their adventure during the French Championships next November. Although everyone’s motivations remain different, the fact remains that all of the participants enjoyed exchanging shuttlecocks throughout the day. Indeed, competitive groupings in adapted para badminton remain rarer, insofar as it is necessary to succeed in coordinating the arrival of several establishments on a dedicated time.

Organized for a few seasons thanks to the Departmental Committee for Adapted Sport and in particular to the work undertaken by Cynthia BOIS BRIOUX (CTF Ligue Hauts-de-France), this event was able to see the light of day and is now an annual meeting for parabadists of adapted sport. If they were finally in small committee, it is the players of the CATTP Montdidier Roye who monopolized the first places in the CD category. (*it brings together athletes capable at least of understanding, selecting and using relevant information, developing complex strategies, playing a role in the group, demonstrating abstraction and creativity (source)).
With their results, the 5 Montdiderian badminton players will be able to participate in their 6th French championships which will take place from November 19 to 21, 2021 at ALTKIRCH (Bas-rhin – 68).

The afternoon then allowed the setting up of matches supervised by LUCAS PETIT and Renan LE BRAS, two DEJEPS graduate coaches who work respectively at Amiens UC Badminton and Albert Sport Badminton. This dedicated time allowed them to correct the athletes directly in the game situations, therefore a good preparation for the national to come.
