(Portland) The Los Angeles Clippers acquired Norman Powell and Robert Covington from the Portland Trail Blazers, trading in return Eric Bledsoe, Justise Winslow, Keon Johnson and a 2025 second-round pick.
Posted yesterday at 7:58 p.m.
The transaction comes as the February 10 NBA trade deadline approaches.
With the Clippers, Powell joins Kawhi Leonard and Serge Ibaka, among others. This trio was part of the Raptors’ 2019 championship team.
Powell has averaged 18.7 points this season.
He grew up in San Diego and played with UCLA in the NCAA.
The Clippers sit eighth in the West with a 27-27 record.
Injuries to Leonard and Paul George have hurt their performance this season.
George has missed the last 22 games with an elbow injury, which could sideline him for the rest of the campaign.
Leonard has yet to play this season. He suffered a right knee injury in the second round of the playoffs last June against the Jazz.
The Clippers will play again Sunday at home against Milwaukee.
