(Belga) With a 4th and final round completed in 67 strokes, Thomas Pieters went from 39th to 24th place in the Saudi International (Asian Tour / 5 million euros) golf course, played on the course of the Royal Greens golf club in Abdullah Economic City on Sunday, near Jeddah in Saudi Arabia.
The 30-year-old from Antwerp netted four birdies for a bogey on Sunday, ending his tournament two shots under par. Pieters, winner of the Abu Dhabi Championship at the end of January, finished 11 lengths behind Harold Varner III. The 31-year-old American emerged thanks to a birdie and an eagle on the last two holes. He made the difference on a spectacular 25-meter putt to one step ahead of his compatriot Bubba Watson and thus win a second career trophy. (Belga)
