Ana Maria Filip and Migna Touré have the same passion and the same jerseys. The two basketball players joined the Basket Lattes Montpellier Association during the 2020-2021 season. The 32-year-old pivot (1.94 m) and the 27-year-old rear (1.83 m) participated together in the victory in the Coupe de France and the title of vice-champion of France won by the Hérault club.
But they did not stop there in the story of their common destiny. Filip and Touré had the joy of being selected for the French 3×3 basketball team called to participate in the Tokyo Olympics.
3 x 3 basketball, a new discipline at the Olympics
Eliminated in the semi-finals by the United States, Les Bleues missed the bronze medal in the small final against China. History will nevertheless remember that Ana Maria Filip and Migna Touré, with Laëtitia Guapo and Marie-Eve Paget, were the first French players in the new discipline at the Olympics.
At the end of 2021, Migna Touré had the pleasure of being selected for the French basketball team for the Euro 2023 qualifiers. A happiness experienced by her teammate in 2015 when Ana Maria Filip, the Franco-Romanian, participated in the European Championship with France.
