Norwegian Birks Ruds became the first Olympic champion in the freestyle skiing “Big Air” to make his debut in the Olympic Games program on Wednesday.
Rūds collected 187.75 points in the sum of the two best races.
American Colby Stevenson took second place with 183 points. Meanwhile, 30-year-old Swedish freestyle skier Hendrik Harlaut, who is taking part in his third Olympic Games, won the bronze prize with 181 points.
In turn, the world champion in the Big Air discipline of 2021, Oliver Mangnusson from Sweden, took the fourth place with 178.25 points.
In the final, 12 participants made three jumps, but the top two were judged.
It has already been reported that 18-year-old Chinese Guilin Gu became the first champion in this discipline in the women’s competition on Tuesday.
The Beijing Olympics run from February 4 to 20.
