Four seeded smoke out in the VICTOR DM quarterfinals

The top-seeded players are still in four of the categories after the quarter-finals at VICTOR DM 2022.

The single exception is the women’s double with Maiken Fruergaard and Sara Thygesen, as the latter had to withdraw during Thursday’s match against Amalie Cecilie Kudsk and Signe Schulz Terp-Nielsen.

Thygesen suffered a sprain in his right foot, which, the championship physiotherapist has assessed, requires a few days break.

Overall, the stars dominated most of the quarterfinal day, but there were a few surprises. In mixed doubles, two seeded couples smoked out, while it also became the exit for a seeded women’s doubles and women’s singles.

Here are some of the results from Thursday’s quarterfinals:

  • Jesper Toft / Clara Graversen – Mathias Bay-Smidt / Sara Thygesen (3rd seed): 21-12, 21-18
  • Mads Vestergaard / Natasja P. Anthonisen – Rasmus Espersen / Christine Busch (4th seed): 21-15, 15-21, 21-19
  • Frederikke Lund – Amalie Schulz Terp-Nielsen (4th seed): 19-21, 21-18, 21-15
  • Amalie Cecilie Kudsk / Signe Schulz Terp-Nielsen – Sara Thygesen / Mathias Bay-Smidt (3rd seed): 13-18 (Thygesen withdrew an injury)
  • Anders Antonsen – Mads Juel Møller: 21-5, 21-10
  • Rasmus Messerschmidt (4th seed) – Ditlev Jæger Holm: 18-21, 23-21, 22-20
  • Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus (2nd seed) – Magnus Johannesen: 24-26, 21-13, 21-18
  • Freja Ravn / Amalie Magelund (2nd seed) – Marie Røpke / Line Kruse: 21-16, 21-19
  • Lasse Mølhede / Mathias Thyrri (3rd seed) – William Kryger Boe / Christian Faust Kjær: 21-13, 21-13
