On the best offensive night of his career, NBA: Dallas Mavericks winning streak ends abruptly”>Luka Doncic scored 51 points in Thursday’s Dallas Mavericks 112-105 win over the Los Angeles Clippers as the Phoenix Suns beat the Milwaukee Bucks in their first game since last year’s Finals.

Slovenian Doncic beat his previous record scoring, 46 points achieved in February 2021, on the day the Mavericks sent their partner Kristaps Porzingis to the Wizards at the close of the NBA transfer market.

Doncic also added 9 rebounds and 6 assists to his account in 39 minutes of play.

The best offensive night of his career.

The 22-year-old Slovenian phenomenon overwhelmed the Clippers from the start, adding 25 points and 7 triples in the first quarter alone.

At the break he accumulated 32 points while the Mavericks clearly dominated the game. The Clippers, however, recovered from a 17-point deficit and reached the final stretch with options, in which they ended up condemned by several key errors.

For the Clippers, who traded the Hispanic-Congolese Serge Ibaka to the Bucks on Thursday, forward Marcus Morris was the top scorer with 21 points.
