(Adnkronos) – Nintendo has just broadcast its new Direct, a 40-minute presentation that includes all upcoming Switch releases. In addition to showing new sequences of previously announced titles such as Kirby and the Lost Land and Advance Wars 1 + 2 Re-Boot Camp, the house of Mario has focused on some new adventures that will arrive on the console in this 2022, but also on some back from the past in a remastered version.
As had already been aired by some rumors, the Fire Emblem series is making a comeback, but this time with a new Fire Emblem Warriors. The new chapter of the action version of the tactical game will be developed as always by Omega Force, and will be set in the world of Three Houses on Switch. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes will land on Nintendo Switch on June 24th, with devastating combos and all the characters present in the title it is inspired by. A limited edition of the game will be available from the same date and will include an artbook, a fabric map of the Fódlan, a set of five acrylic figurines and a set of postcards of the characters, as well as the game card.
Mario Strikers: Battle League Football is the new chapter of the Mario and company series in the world of football, in fiery five-on-five matches that do not skimp on special moves, fireballs and combat equipment with which to customize your player in online matches and single player. Up to eight players can battle on the same console, and up to 20 can join forces on the Net to create the strongest team in the world. The game will be released on June 10th.
Nintendo Switch Sports is the sequel to the highest-grossing game Wii Sports, which launched in 2006 alongside the then futuristic Wii and over the years became one of the best-selling Nintendo games of all time, with more than 82 million copies placed. This new edition takes up the same concept as the first episode, that is motion controls associated with a choice of sports to be played alone or in company. In this case, the range of selectable disciplines is wider: football, volleyball, bowling, tennis, badminton and chanbara. In football, you can also use the leg band (included in the physical edition of the game) to secure the Joy-Con controller and actually kick. In addition, a new sport, golf, will be added with a free DLC this fall. The game will be available on April 28, but Nintendo has announced a free online beta test on February 19 and 20.
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is the new chapter in MonolithSoft’s Xeno saga and will arrive on Switch in September. players will take on the role of protagonists Noah and Miyo, in a world torn apart by the conflict between the nations of Keves and Agnus. Six characters from both nations set out on a life-themed adventure. The story of the new chapter is a direct sequel from the past, and connects the futures of Xenoblade Chronicles and Xenoblade Chronicles 2.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe was a huge hit on Switch, and has sold nearly 40 million copies since 2017. Nintendo has therefore decided to launch a new paid expansion pass that will make 48 new tracks available in the game between now and 2023, all updated versions of classic circuits present in all the games in the series. The first package, arriving on March 18, will include routes such as Wii Outlet Cocco, N64 Cioccocanyon and Tokyo Neon Tour. Mario Kart 8 Deluxe – Additional Paths Pass will be available for purchase separately, at a price of 24.99 euros, but owners of a Nintendo Switch Online + Additional Package membership will be able to access its contents at no additional cost. Furthermore, until February 20, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is discounted by 33 percent on eShop.
Among the titles already announced, Nintendo showed new transformations of Kirby into Kirby and the Lost Land, out on March 25, and the lively co-op mode of Splatoon 3, announced for the summer. Also available is a free update for Metroid Dread which sees the introduction of super hard and beginner modes. Also announced is the arrival of MLB The Show 22, the official baseball game that will include a system for sharing progress with other platforms and also cross-platform online play. From Bandai Namco will arrive during the year Taiko no Tatsujin: Rhythm Festival, a new episode of the musical game that for the first time in the West will be launched with a paid subscription to be able to play the hundreds of songs accumulated by the series over the years. Finally, Disney Speedstorm is a free-to-play racing game developed by Gameloft, in which it is possible to impersonate several Disney stars who will be added to the initial roster over time.
