The representation of Carabobo state got another gold medal in the culmination of the karate do of the National Sports Gameswhich is disputed in its twentieth edition, to be located in the seat of honor of the medal table with three golden, one silver and the same number of bronze for a total of five.
Carabobeño leadership in the medal table was achieved after the performance of Thomas Martínez, who won the Cojedes representative, Jesús Castro, in the combats of the -68 kilogram category, during the day held at the National Judo Center, located in the United Nations Park, in El Paraíso.
In the third box of this weight were the Larense Juan Vivas and the Mirandino Omar Gutiérrez.
Another victory for Carabobo
The other gold medal for the Carabobeño team was obtained by the young Daniela García in the Kata modality, who highlighted:
“I feel proud to return to the tatami and do it with such an important victory for me. I want to thank God mainly, my family for always supporting me and my coach José Donati, who has always believed in me, and has worked hard to make this a reality”, she highlighted.
“This performance drives us to continue working to achieve one of the main goals this year, qualifying for the World Martial Art Championship, to be held in Turkey,” Garcia concluded.
Golden metal for Lara
Similarly, Larense Henry Toro also won gold for his delegation, after winning the -55 Kg kumite against Enzo Silva from Yaracuya. The bronzes corresponded to Javmar Díaz from Anzoatiguense and Roberths Velero from Barin.
“I feel very happy, very well, thank God the goal was achieved, we became champion of the category, I enjoyed it and we are proud of the work,” said Toro, who stressed that everything is achieved with sacrifice and dedication.
Second position in medals achieved
Lara appears second in the table with two gold and silver medals, in addition to a bronze, for a total of 5, escorted by Amazonas with 2-1-1 to accumulate 4, one more than Cojedes who has 1 golden and 2 silver; followed by Caracas and Trujillo with 1 gold and 1 bronze each. The other gold disputed in the days of karate do was won by the representation of Bolívar.
Add a win for Cojedes
The representative of the Cojedes state, Xavier Rivas, reached the only gold for Cojedes in the karate do of the games, by beating Nelson Meneses from Carabobo in the -61 kilograms. Glen Nazaret from Sucre and Giovanell Contreras from Tachira finished in third place.
Kumite
While Laura Seijas from Caracas stood out in the kumite -53 Kg. against Yaracuyana Yoleimar Chirinos. The athlete from Portuguesa and Nueva Esparta, Kamila Rojas and Eyla Carpio, respectively, also shared the podium.
In the -48 kilograms of kumite, Ana Vásquez from Trujillo with gold, Mirelys Díaz from Yaracuya with silver, as well as Jetsaly Valero from Caracas and Dannelys Guevara from Monaguense.
