During the final training session on Friday, Sven Ulreich (33) was the first to come onto the pitch – number 2 is eager to be in the box now.
And coach Nagelsmann encourages him: “I am confident that he will perform well. He has represented Manu very well for a longer period of time and has already played a few Bundesliga games in his career. He will perform well in the coming weeks! We are well positioned there!”

Nevertheless, it will be a slightly different goalkeeping game. Nagelsmann: “Of course it’s a big advantage that you can play Manu in any pressure situation, he has the level of a field player. Maybe it will change now that you play a back pass less. But Ulle can also kick, he also has the right to participate in the build-up game, he should do that too.”
According to BILD information, captain Manuel Neuer (35) will be out for four to six weeks after meniscus surgery in his right knee. Now Ulreich has to work and also has the chance to recommend himself for an extension of the contract that expires in the summer.
Even with Neuer’s three metatarsal fractures (2017 and 2018) and a break of almost a year, Ulreich (returned from HSV in 2021) replaced him excellently, except for a blunder in the semifinals at Real Madrid. Bayern are also counting on that now.
