Cristiano Ronaldo‘s goal tap is stuttering. Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick admits Ronaldo should have scored more goals.

The Portuguese superstar has scored 14 goals in 26 appearances for United in all competitions this season. However, the last time Ronaldo carved his name on the scoreboard was when he scored against Burnley before the turn of the year.

Thus, the 37-year-old footballer means he has missed scoring goals in his last five matches at club level. Ronaldo’s worst goal drought since 2010.

However, in general, Manchester United’s attack line is in the middle of a table. Manchester United have only scored one goal each in their last three matches in all competitions, and have only won once.

Rangnick thinks Ronaldo’s statistics are not good enough. However, the responsibility for scoring goals cannot rest on Ronaldo alone, but on all the forwards the Red Devils.

“It’s not just about Cristiano Ronaldo,” Rangnick told the Daily Mail. “He should have scored more goals, that’s clear. I think we created enough chances and enough chances in the last few games. But it’s just that we didn’t score enough goals.”

“But it’s not just a Cristiano problem. It’s a problem with the other players, especially the forwards because we didn’t score enough goals when you look at how many chances we created.”

“This has to be improved in the next few weeks. In the first half against Burnley, we were almost exactly with the game plan that was discussed earlier and now it’s about rewarding ourselves with the results we deserve,” said Rangnick.
