On January 29, 2022, the Zone Cadets final took place in Toulouse.
In the morning the cadets fought for the qualification for the Occitanie championship of the 1st and 2nd division French championship. Three Cadets from the Torii Judo Club were present. Antony Abadie – 66 kg, on a bad day, loses in the first round and the competition will end there for him. Haïdy Pelous – 52 kg climbed to 5th place and managed to take the last qualifying place. Tobias Hurtin – 81 kg, who has recently resumed training after a long break, is doing well with a fine 5th qualifying place for the upcoming championship! In the afternoon it is the turn of the Espoirs (1st year cadets) to do battle to ensure qualification for the French Espoir Championships for the first 5, and the first 3 will also participate in the qualifications in the 1st division.
Cathy Morteyrol – 48 kg climbed to second place and ensured her qualification for the Espoir championship. Mylène Welter – 52 kg also finished 2nd and is guaranteed to go to Paris. Anaïs Tussau – 57 kg wins the title and joins the girlfriends.
Maël Debenest – 55 kg also finished 2nd and will be part of the next level.
Samuel Casbas – 55 kg finishes 5th but loses the qualifying jump-off place and will not leave with his friends.
Cédric and Luca Casbas officiated in the arbitration organization of this event. The Torii Judo Club will be represented at the French Hope Championships and at the qualifications of the French 1st Division Championship with 6 judokas!
