Venezuela has been characterized as one of the great cradles of MLB players.
Since 1939, our country has been an exporter of natural talent and from there we have seen a Luis Aparicio, a David Concepción, a Miguel Cabrera or a José Altuve; however, in recent years, our country has also broken boundaries in the administrative and preparation area in each of the organizations, and Eduardo Brizuela is a clear example of this.
Brizuela has been synonymous with perseverance and excellence in the Milwaukee Brewers, to the point that as of this 2022 campaign he will assume the role of VP and special assistant to the General Manager of the lupulosos, with which he became the first Venezuelan in the history of this franchise in assuming such responsibility.
The 35-year-old started with Milwaukee in 2009 as a forward scout and has worked his way up the ranks for 14 years to become Director of the Brewers Minor League System.
“In his new role, Brizuela will continue to assist in all facets of the franchise’s minor league operations, in addition to assisting David Stearns (President of Club Operations), Matt Arnold (General Manager) and Craig Counsell (Manager) with the player transaction”, highlights his biography in the Milwaukee media guide for 2022.
With this achievement, Brizuela joins Jorge Velandia (Philadelphia) as the only Venezuelans to serve as an assistant general manager in the Majors.
