James Harden and Ben Simmons Officially Switch Places

The long-awaited biggest exchange has finally materialized. Report ESPN mentions that the Brooklyn Nets and the Ben Simmons case is far from resolved”>Philadelphia 76ers have finally agreed to move their two stars, James Harden and Ben Simmons.

It doesn’t involve just two names, a total of five players are involved. In addition to Harden, the Nets also sent Paul Millsap to the Sixers. In contrast, the Sixers also added Seth Curry and Andre Drummond. The Sixers are also willing to sacrifice their two first-round NBA Draft voting rights for 2022 and 2027.

The same report states that negotiations between the two teams really only started today, Thursday, February 10, 2022, local time. Several issues that had mentioned the Nets asking for Matisse Thybulle did not materialize with this report.

With this deal, Harden is reunited with his former general manager at the Houston Rockets, Daryl Morey. Morey, who is now president of the Sixers, is believed to have been trying to get Harden since last season. Unfortunately, Harden tried his luck first to the Nets.

On the other hand, this agreement also makes the opportunity for NBA fans to see Ben Simmons in action this season again open. Since last season’s Eastern Conference semifinal loss to the Atlanta Hawks, Ben has refused to play for the Sixers on psychological grounds.

This agreement allows the Nets to go down with the composition of Kyrie Irving, Seth Curry, Kevin Durant, Ben Simmons, and LaMarcus Aldridge. On the bench, they still have Patty Mills, Cam Thomas, Bruce Brown, Joe Harris, and Andre Drummond. There are also the names of Jevon Carter, DeAndre ‘Bembry, Nic Claxton, Blake Griffin, and James Johnson.

For the Sixers, it is likely that their main composition will be Tyrese Maxey, James Harden, Matisse Thybulle, Tobias Harris, and Joel Embiid. Not much has changed on their bench. The loss of Drummond might be trying to be covered up by Paul Reed and Paul Millsap or even looking for other free players available.

The Sixers are currently ranked fifth in the Eastern Conference standings with a record (32-22) the Nets are three places below it with a record (29-25). The Nets are now also on a bad streak of nine straight defeats.

The two teams have met three times this season and the Nets have won both games. All games ended with a point difference of less than double digits. The last game of the two in the regular season will be on March 10, 2022, local time, with the Sixers as hosts.(DRMK)
