Ajla Tomljanovic shares her vision on how she lives tennis

Ajla Tomljanovic He hasn’t had the best start to the season. Good luck has not accompanied the tennis player in relation to the pictures. She lost in Adelaide to Sofia Kenin and, later, both in Sydney and Melbourne to the Spanish Paula Badosa. The Australian player, who will play the qualifying round in Dubai, shared with TENNIS.COM what her goals were for the new season. In the interview, she also talked about what it was like to have a relationship with a player on the circuit, Matteo Berrettini, and how she copes with her tennis life.

How do you understand tennis?

“My tennis life is full of adventures, of good and bad moments. Nothing good comes without going through all the bad. It’s like a roller coaster, that’s why I love it. Every day something new happens, and I try to enjoy it as much as I can, because I won’t be able to play tennis for too long. The older I get, the more I appreciate what I do.

Something I like about tennis is that literally every week there is a new opportunity. That’s what I tell myself when things get complicated, that in the next week I have a chance to do better. My tennis is quite aggressive. I’m working on bringing it more online. I want to be the one who takes the initiative on the track”.

His team

“Growing up, my team has always been my family. My father travels with me for as long as I can remember. He would say that my personality is just the way I am on court. I am a very stubborn and competitive person.”

Goals for 2022

“Going into this new year, I think my goals have not changed too much. I want to live new experiences, which means that I will have done better than in previous years. The goal is just to get better.”

Sobre Matteo Berrettini

“He is very loyal, he always supports me. I like having a partner from the same industry because we travel to the same place many times, we enjoy more time together. I always hope we win on the same day, so we don’t have to pretend we’re not happy.”
