Erik ten Hag has excellent papers to become the new manager of Manchester United. The Ajax trainer is preferred at Old Trafford to Mauricio Pochettino of Paris Saint-Germain, The Sun reports.
Ralf Rangnick is United’s interim manager until the end of the season, after which he continues as an adviser to the Premier League superpower. The German is working hard internally for the arrival of Ten Hag. The boulevard newspaper writes that CEO Richard Arnold, the successor of Ed Woodward, ‘has been over by Rangnick’s championing of Ten Hag’.
Rangnick sees the Dutchman as the best candidate to shape United’s revival in England in the long term. With this, the club management of The Mancunians against the wishes of many of the players, who hope Pochettino will be unleashed from Paris Saint-Germain.
There is plenty of speculation about the future of Ten Hag at Ajax after the departure of director of football affairs Marc Overmars. The 52-year-old coach still has a contract until the summer of 2023 in Amsterdam.
