As the Los Angeles Rams prepare to face the Cincinnati Bengals, anyone walking through downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night has a chance to see a different kind of football-themed spectacle: a new drone show from the NFL Super Bowl.
The glittering tech exhibit is the first of its kind, with the first showing taking place Friday night near the Los Angeles Convention Center. The drone launch pad is located on top of the Convention Center building.
The 500 drones flew through the sky in different formations, each approximately 600 feet wide by 400 feet tall, creating stunning images that NewsChopper4 Alpha captured from the air.
Formations include a football player passing the ball and the Lombardi Trophy that is presented to the Super Bowl champions each year after the game.
If you missed Friday’s performance, don’t worry, you still have plenty of opportunities to see the SoCal sky light up ahead of the Super Bowl LVI game at 3:30 pm on Sunday.
On Saturday there will be three more functions: one at 7 pm, another at 8:30 pm and another at 10 pm
Head to the downtown Los Angeles area, about a mile from the Los Angeles Convention Center, according to an NFL spokesperson, to check out the drone exhibit.
