Will he find his way back to his top form there? His French colleague Richard Gasquet expresses cautious doubts: “What happened in Australia was very tough for Djokovic. It will be interesting to see how he returns to Dubai. You might think that this will increase his motivation, but this is different. He’s used to fighting the crowd, his rivals and sometimes himself, but this must have been a lot harder for him.”
The Serb is set to make his much-anticipated comeback in the Middle East. His last match on the tour was the semi-final loss to Alexander Zverev at the ATP Finals in November 2021.
