The Tampa Bay Buccaneers do not seem ready to mourn Tom Brady.
According to NFL Network journalists Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport, the Buccaneers have not completely closed the door to a return of the legendary quarterback for the 2022 season. The team would also be willing to do anything to convince him to give up his retirement, which he announced on 1is February after 22 seasons in the NFL.
To his podcast Let’s Go ! last week, Brady said “never say never” about a potential comeback.
If Brady doesn’t change his mind, the Buccaneers may turn to the deal market to find him a successor.
According to NFL Network, the team has seriously considered the possibility of acquiring Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans and is among the clubs interested in the services of Russell Wilson if the Seattle Seahawks decide to trade the star quarterback. For the moment, the latter would not have indicated that they are ready to listen to the offers.
Wilson and Watson both have no-trade clauses in their contracts.
The 44-year-old Brady left the NFL after throwing 5,316 yards and 43 touchdowns in 2021.
The most decorated quarterback in NFL history, Brady won the Super Bowl seven times during his career with the New England Patriots and Buccaneers.
