Chambon-sur-Lignon. “His name was Benoît Paire and I did not photograph him”

Isabelle Enguix, a member of the Chambon-sur-Lignon Tennis Club for almost thirty years, has been photographing the players since 2006. A computer scientist by trade, she takes time off during each international tournament to help organize and immortalize each player in action. .

“I like to take pictures, I like to play tennis, she explains. When you combine the two it becomes a passion. I wanted to make a database of photos with all these young internationals who come to Le Chambon. »

“We don’t know who will turn professional”

She adds: “From time to time, I take pleasure in bringing out one, like that of David Goffin or Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, even if that one, I did not do it. At the beginning, I took the players a bit at random. »

An anecdote marked him: “One day I saw a boy who was losing 6-0, 6-2, I said to myself that one, it’s not worth it, he won’t go very far. His name was Benoît Paire and I didn’t photograph him! Since I make my photos available on the internet, I take everyone. They are all good, we don’t know who will turn professional. It requires a lot of availability, especially at the start of the tournament because you must not miss a player who is quickly eliminated”.

Isabelle’s photos are available on the lechambontennis.com website and are free of rights for private use and subject to conditions for public use.
