The 31-year-old Pančochová, who was the first freestylist in history to qualify for the Olympics in all three disciplines, failed to make an impact in the opening backside 900 malone jump. “I was stressed on the first ride and fell on nonsense that I haven’t fallen on in a long time. It’s a trick that I’ve really jumped to one hundred percent,” Pančochová said.
In the second attempt, she managed the backside 720 and in the end the frontside 720, grabbing the back tip of the board. “Because I didn’t make the first jump, I had to improvise and tactical. I thought I could make it to the finals. I’m more sure of them, that’s why I chose them,” the Junior World Big Big World Champion continued. 2008.
She held the final place for a moment. In the end, with the third attempts, two opponents overtook her in the sum of points for the two best jumps and pushed her out of the final twelve. “I imagined a little bit that I would do a better second jump, which might move me to the finals. But I’m glad that I managed to do two jumps,” she said.
Her best result out of four participations under five circles will remain the fifth position from the slopes in Sochi 2014.
Zoi Sadowská Synnott advanced from the first place and after the triumph in slopestyle, in which she won the first gold of the Winter Games for New Zealand, she has a chance for another medal. The second was, as in slopestyle, Kokomo Murase, the third another Japanese Reira Iwabuchi.
The final is scheduled for Tuesday.
