San Isidro accounts for 6,737 users and Valle Laciana-Leitariegos, 893. The station located in the upper Porma and Curueño exceeds 100,000 fans during the weekend so far this season
The winter resorts of the province of León, San Isidro and Valle Laciana-Leitariegos, have received more than 7,500 skiers (7,630) during the weekend of February 12 and 13, 2022. The facilities dependent on the León Provincial Council have offered these days a total of 21.4 skiable kilometers with thicknesses of between 30 and 110 centimeters of snow.
Weekend with uneven weather in San Isidro, in which it has been possible to enjoy a snow offer of 19.6 skiable kilometers. The sectors of Cebolledo, Riopinos and Requejines remain open, through which a total of 6,737 skiers have passed, with Saturday, February 12 as the busiest day (4,159 users). This weekend, there have been more than 100,000 skiers in the winter resort of San Isidro so far this season.
The origin, as usual, has been from Castilla y León and Asturias, with a notable increase in fans from Galicia and Portugal.
The snow campaigns and agreements organized by the Diputación de León continue, which since its inception, in January 2022, have already seen more than 2,100 participants pass by, mainly schoolchildren.
In the coming weeks, the San Isidro station will also host the scheduled assistance of the participants from the specialized care centers of the provincial institution.
In the case of Valle Laciana-Leitariegos, Saturday dawned overcast, but the weather conditions improved throughout the day. On Sunday, strong gusts of wind have caused the closure of the Gobia chairlift in the upper area, which has not prevented the facilities, with 1.8 kilometers of ski slopes, from receiving a total of 893 users these days.
The Lacianiega season has continued this week with the 2022 Snow Campaign for teaching and perfecting the practice of skiing organized by the Diputación de León. 228 schoolchildren have attended the daily system from the towns of Fabero, Palacios del Sil, Villablino, Carrizo, La Magdalena, Cacabelos, Toral de Merayo and Cubillos del Sil. On the part of the weekly system, 58 schoolchildren from the La Inmaculada de Ponferrada School have attended, which means a total of 286 participants.
On behalf of the Ponferrada Campus of the University of León, the group of 8 students has continued with the ski and snowboard course of the ‘A day in the snow’ campaign of the provincial institution. Likewise, 39 schoolchildren from the province of León and 68 from A Coruña have enjoyed 4 days of learning and perfecting skiing and snowboarding at the Valle Laciana-Leitariegos facilities.
From the winter facilities of the Diputación, anti-Covid measures are maintained according to the level determined by the health authorities of the community and appeals to individual responsibility and the use of a mask.
