the Judo Club Remalard welcomes children and adults to the dojo, opposite the town hall, following the recommendations to avoid Covid contamination. “We always use the Tous Anti-Covid Verif app at the entrance to the dojo. We play the game to stay open and continue to play sports. We offer two discovery sessions,” explains Régis Grassi, president of the club. Pierre-François Hubert (we call him PH), a state graduate and 2nd Dan, was on the tatami surrounded by the children from 5 p.m.
Judo, Taïso and Jujitso sessions
Every Tuesday, two Judo sessions for children follow one another: the Baby Judo from 5 p.m. to 5.45 p.m. (for children aged 4 to 7) and child judo from 5:45 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. (pre-teens from 8 to 11 years old).
Then it’s Taïso time (where the public is represented by 2/3 women and 1/3 men), from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. This is an activity that has existed for four years. Taiso is not combat; it is a no-fall gym that offers muscle building with stretching, cardio-respiratory and balance exercises (without the need to wear a kimono just dressed comfortably).
The evening continues with the Jujitsu/self-defense course for teenagers and adults from 8 p.m. to 9:15 p.m.
Leisure mode
“We are really in the leisure mode and not in the competition. Although we have students who participate in tournaments, ”underlines Régis Grassi, president of the club.
Club Judo Rémalard participates in the development of Judo in the territory. “In the adult group, we have four teenagers who receive advice and tips from the more experienced ones. We laugh a lot, we have fun and, above all, judo helps enormously to get out of the difficult context of current life, ”confides the president.
Universal values
A sign stuck to the wall clearly shows them: politeness, courage, friendship, self-control, sincerity, modesty, honor and respect.
“The values of Judo are universal and also apply to the business world. It’s important to learn them from childhood to integrate them into our lives naturally,” says Régis Grassi.
