2021/2022 season: UEFA offers 30,000 free tickets for this year’s finals

UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin today announced that fans of the teams participating in this year’s club competition finals will be offered a substantial number of free tickets to these major finals to reward them for their support of the European football during the Covid crisis. Thus, Real Sociedad fans could win a double prize if the Blue and Whites reach the final this season.

Fans of the finalist clubs will receive free tickets with the following distribution:

DISTRIBUTION OF TICKETS

  • UEFA Champions League:
10,000 free tickets (5,000 tickets per club)

  • UEFA Europa League:
8,000 free tickets (4,000 tickets per club)

  • UEFA Europa Conference League:
6,000 free tickets (3,000 tickets per club)

  • UEFA Women’s Champions League:
6,000 free tickets (3,000 tickets per club)

Each of the finalist clubs will be able to use these tickets to reward their most loyal supporters (i.e. the oldest season ticket holders, those who have attended the most away games, etc.), but these tickets cannot be awarded to sponsors, members or officers of the club.

In addition, UEFA has also decided to maintain the price of category 4 (€70) and category 3 (€180) tickets for the next three men’s UEFA Champions League finals in 2022, 2023 and 2024, maintaining the current prices since 2020. UEFA is fully aware of the current inflationary situation, particularly around tickets for sporting events, which have seen a significant price increase in recent years. By deciding to cap these prices for at least three seasons for these prestigious matches, UEFA wishes to send a strong signal to fans and ensure that access is affordable for all.

UEFA will bear all the costs related to this unique initiative and will not affect the financial distribution of the clubs, who will receive all the agreed amounts.

About this initiative, Čeferin stated the following: “Football fans are the soul of the sport and we thought it would be a good way to recognize the difficulties they have experienced in the last two years and how, despite everything, they have been arranged to support their teams and live their passion even while away from the stadiums.

He further added that “fans play an integral role in the development of football, and we must ensure that traveling loyal fans can attend historic moments for their beloved teams at affordable prices.”
