Edouard Mendy: 1 Week 2 Cups!

Edward Mendy had a great week. Goalkeeper Chelsea it won titles at international and club level during that period. Wow!

Mendy led the Senegal national team to win the 2021 African Cup of Nations, Monday (7/2/2022). The Lions of Teranga won on penalties 4-2 over Egypt in the final.

The 29-year-old goalkeeper and the Senegal squad were greeted like heroes in their homeland. Mendy cs received the highest national award from the government of Senegal.

Edouard Mendy soon celebrated the title with Senegal. He immediately flew to the United Arab Emirates on Wednesday (9/2) and joined the Chelsea squad for the 2021 Club World Cup.

Mendy started when Chelsea met Palmeiras in the final at the Mohammed bin Zayerd Stadium. He appeared in full in the match which was completed on Sunday (13/2) early morning WIB.

Chelsea managed to come out as champions after beating Palmeiras in extra time. The Blues won 2-1, with the winning goal scored by Kai Havertz from the penalty spot.

Mendy also had another sustenance in the form of the second title he won in a week. The former Reims goalkeeper lifts the 2021 Club World Cup trophy with his Chelsea team-mates.

Mendy has been like the ‘King of Midas’ since joining Chelsea in September 2020. Squawka noted, Mendy managed to win a prestigious trophy every 21 matches.

The title has not been added to the achievements of Edouard Mendy for the individual category. He was named the 2021 Champions League Best Goalkeeper, 2021 FIFA Best Goalkeeper, as well as the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations Best Goalkeeper. Amazing!
