The match had been stopped following non-compliance with Covid protocols.
It was last September 5: the Brazil – Argentina match counting for the 2022 World Cup qualifiers was stopped by the intervention of the Brazilian health agency after 5 minutes of play, following the presence of 4 Argentine players playing in England who had not complied with anti-Covid protocols.
While FIFA had confirmed the suspension of the match by decision of the referee, it had not yet decided on a postponement of the match.
Until today, then. The date and venue of the match are yet to be determined.
The two federations are each fined around 525,000 euros (for Brazil) and 240,000 euros (for Argentina) for not having respected the security measures. Emiliano Buendia, Emiliano Martinez, Young Lo Celso and Christian Romerowho had not met Covid standards by failing to inform that they had traveled to England before the meeting, received a two-game suspension.
