The Italian Basketball Cup Final Eight, which will begin on Wednesday 16 February, has averted a great danger. In fact, it was feared for the regularity of the first challenge in Pesaro, with the Dinamo Sassari opposite toOlimpia Milan which had remained in quarantine until yesterday afternoon due to some Covid cases.
Fortunately, the results of the swabs gave the good news: no athlete among the Sardinians tested positive for the disease, thus allowing Piero Bucchi’s men to be able to be safely present at the national event.
Averted therefore the danger of attending a match that would not have had anything like that. In order to start the tournament, the Legabasket had also arranged a derogation on the number of players useful to validate the matches: eight members would have been enough, whatever their professional status, giving the opportunity to use even non-contractual juniors.

Coach Bucchi is optimistic about the match, as expressed in the press conference: “We will check the physical conditions of the last negativized boys and we will be ready to face this competition that the players care a lot. Their desire to participate will make up for some shortcomings that at this moment we have seen that we come out of a week of Covid“.
