Knowledge is the greatest revolution: says the Nobel Giorgio Parisithat last Saturday connected online with the popular schools of Rome and Bagheria (PA) to answer the questions of the children.

“Science comes from curiosity. From knowing how to look at reality with different eyes”Parisi remarked, who said he was “very happy” about the invitation and to be able to talk to the boys and girls, aged 13 to 18, from Rome and Bagheria.
“We have to teach children to indulge curiosity, inserting it into the scientific method. In this way – he said – the greatest revolution can be achieved, which is knowledge: the best social elevator “.

The event was organized by folk schools Spintime + (SpintaInPiù) of Rome e We Care of Bagheria. The first was born in 2015 from the meeting between Icbie Europa Onlus and Spin Time Labs and the educators are all volunteers; The We Care Popular School is located a few kilometers from Palermo and was born in 2019 within the Bocs cultural association (Arci).

Both schools are in a network with other schools in the area and their goal is “facilitate the formation of active individuals, self-conscious and capable of formulating criticisms for the construction of a welcoming community in which knowledge is shared”in line with the provisions of the Charter of the Folk Schools Network.

The social function of the public school, is also noted in the Charter, “is to prevent class divergences, increase social mobility, decrease early school leaving, contributing to the formation of an educating community as it is aware”.
