Before the educational authorities of the state of Chihuahua, the Chihuahuan Institute of Sports and the Municipal Institute of Sports and Physical Culture of Juárez, the Physical Activation Project Among the Sedentary Population “Papis” was presented, in which it is intended to include all public schools of the border region.
The coach of the Indians of the Autonomous University of Ciudad Juárez, Ángel Alfredo González, reported that it is a pilot plan that is expected to be replicated in all the municipalities of the state, through leagues and tournaments by sectors of the city.
In the case of Ciudad Juárez, he explained that there are around 1,600 schools in which the “Papis” project is intended to be established, but they will start once the project is authorized, with just over 700 schools where more than 18,000 students study. and where they have physical education teachers, who will be duly trained to teach introductory basketball courses.
“We will start with the training of teachers as soon as they give us the green light, but due to the pandemic, we have to do it in the order that we have programmed, and during the course of the school year,” he asserted.
He pointed out that it is a physical reactivation through basketball, and it is a pilot plan to serve other sports throughout the state.
