Tuesday afternoon, the Judo Club of Gérardmer had the pleasure of officially handing over complete outfits to the students of the judo sports section of La Haie Griselle in the presence of the head of establishment Laurent Belin and the main sponsor “Blanc de Gérardmer” represented by Pauline Doridant.

The judo sports section opened its doors in September 2020 near the Haie Griselle school complex. Set up with the local club, it currently has about fifteen members (middle and high school combined) and hopes to continue to develop once the restrictions linked to the health crisis are lifted. But in the meantime, the Judo Club of Gérardmer was able to concretize a project which had germinated many months ago, that of offering a complete outfit to each member of the section. In a context that is not always conducive to initiatives, it will have been necessary to arm ourselves with patience to carry out this action. Patience and resilience which are a bit of the Leitmotif for contact sports in the current context.

Gerardmer Haie Griselle judo section (2)For these deserving athletes, the delivery of these outfits therefore necessarily had a special flavor. Indeed, it is a great reward for these young people who suffer the full brunt of health instructions that do not allow them to really practice judo as well as the deepening of this discipline in all its forms: ” Our students did judo without a partner, with a lot of muscle building and often a reduced number laments Mikaël Bussière, president of the club and volunteer coach. Lots of physics, preparation and theory on the menu, while pair technique, competition and opposition must still be put aside for the moment…

But whether it’s the sports section or more generally the Judo Club of Gérardmer, we have held on so far, facing the difficulties induced by COVID-19. With 255 licensees, the numbers have exploded since the start of the 2021 school year. Which is a rather good sign for Mikaël Bussière as well as the two salaried coaches Stany Simon and Olivier Lina who have their work cut out for them and expect you to meet on April 30. next at the Halle des Sports for the international veterans master!
