President Mario Abdo Benítez held a meeting with the delegation of young people who belong to different modalities. During the meeting, which took place in the Government Palace, they announced that the investment had doubled to G. 11,300 million.
The beneficiaries are the athletes who make up the Support Program for High-Performance Athletes, promoted by the National Sports Secretariat.
Among the main disciplines that young people integrate in terms of collective sports are FIFA futsal, beach soccer, field soccer, volleyball, basketball and handball. In addition to athletics, canoeing, cycling, fencing, golf, judo, karate, swimming, skating, rowing and tennis.
The Minister of Sports, Fátima Morales, highlighted the support of the Government and that for the first time team sports are included.
He stressed that the program will allow athletes to participate in important sports for their different modalities and have preparation for the Odesur Games.
The economic support will be used for 76 athletes in the individual modality.
