The president of the Spanish Basketball Federation (FEB), Jorge Garbajosa, assured that thanks to the organization of the 2022 Queen’s Cup that will be played in Valencia, “women’s basketball” will win, thanks to the “great party” that will take place place in the city.
“After last year’s Women’s EuroBasket, we are going to experience an exceptional Queen’s Cup, the great festival of women’s basketball in 2022. With this organization, the one that wins is women’s basketball”, assured the president of Spanish basketball in the presentation .
In addition, he stressed that one of the objectives of the FEB is to grow women’s basketball. “We all have in mind to make women’s basketball grow and, for this, the best way is to have an audience in the stands again,” added Garbajosa.
Among other attendees at the draw for the quarterfinals of the Copa de la Reina, were the president of Valencia Basket, Vicent Solá, the Councilor for Sports of the Valencia City Council, Pilar Bernabé, the general director of Sports of the Generalitat Valenciana, Josep Miquel Moya Torres, and Endesa’s Levante manager, Eduardo Badía.
The president of the ‘taronja’ club, Vicent Solá, assured as host that once again having fans in the stands at La Fonteta is going to be a “true show”. “For us it is very special to host the Cup again, in addition to hosting the Mini Cup at L’Alqueria del Basket, because of what it means,” he assured.
For her part, Councilor Pilar Bernabé assured that the City Council is “delighted” that the FEB will bring its Copa de la Reina to Valencia. “We were looking forward to the return of the Copa de la Reina to receive the best teams and players in Spanish basketball as they deserve, with La Fonteta full. Now it’s time to enjoy,” she said.
